"The
Interpreter " by Charles Randolph
This
book is about Silvia Broome, an interpreter at the United Nations.
One night she heard a plan to kill Dr. Zuwanie, the President
of the African
State of
Matobo, where Silvia lived when she was a child.
At first, Dr. Zuwanie
wanted to liberate Matobo´s people, but in the end, he became
a killer and everybody hated him. Now, the UN wants to punish
him for his crimes.
Tobin Keller, an agent
of the US Secret Service, has to protect Dr. Zuwanie and doesn´t
want to rely on Silvia, because she´s hiding things of her past.
But soon, Silvia will be in danger too and Tobin will protect
her.
Finally, Tobin and
Silvia will get on well, and the US Secret Service will discover
that the intention of killing Dr. Zuwanie is a farce. Also, Silvia
will know that her brother Simon was shot to death in a stadium
by a boy.
I
like Silvia Broome, because she´s brave and fights to get peace.
She was very frightened so she didn´t tell Toby all the truth.
I also like Toby Keller.
He´s a bit strange because his wife died a month ago and he can´t
forget her. Although he didn´t believe Silvia, he protected her
and I think that he falls in love with her.
I don´t like Dr. Zuwanie
because he´s a liar and a killer, and I think that he doesn´t
mind Matobo´s people and he only wants power.
